The food chain is the manifestation of the harmony, rhythm and balance within the animal kingdom. It shows that every species is dependent on the other for nourishment and survival. This is Mother Nature’s way of ensuring that every living thing is of use for each other. It is the connection of every life here on earth.

In order for anything to function and be productive, energy is very necessary. Everything that uses energy needs a source, a fuel. For the machines it can be gas or electricity. But for the living organisms it’s the nutrients each provide for the other. One lives to be a source for the other, and the other one lives to be the same for yet another and so on. As the name suggests it’s a chain. It links everything, from the bottom all the way to the top. Nothing is insignificant, nothing is useless. For as long as life exists, big or small, quick or slow, strong or weak, moving or not, it is and will always be there for a purpose.

Already said, the food chain is the manifestation of the harmony, rhythm and balance. Lest a part of it dwindled in number, or worse, becomes extinct, the whole community could be in jeopardy. Unfortunately, some of them have already been lost and if we, the humans, the ones sitting on the top of the food chain, the ones who are supposed to be stewards over all creation, are not careful, this will definitely take its toll. And if it does, who knows how devastating it’s going to be even to us? This calls for awareness and actions to be taken. Just like in the subject matter, nothing will be insignificant. What you do, whether big or small, dramatic or simple, counts. It’s only a matter of choice.

It would be nice if you gave some ideas/examples on actions to take.
